Expat Expo, Fasnacht Exhibit, Fondation Beyeler, and Bands from Wales

Broadcast on:
11 February, 2025

If you're an expat looking to feel even more a part of Switzerland, this Sunday, February 16, is the Expat Expo. This informational event is for new residents and people who have been here for years. You can get details on services and businesses, schools, jobs, language lessons, and more.

We're just a few weeks from Fasnacht. If the bags of Räppli (confetti) for sale at the grocery store haven't put you in the mood yet, check out the Museum der Kulturen Basel's exhibit on Fasnacht to learn about the history of the carnival, the parades, Morgestraich and everything else related to Basel's Fasnacht celebration. There's an English-language tour of the exhibit on Sunday morning, February 16.

And while the temperatures are still cold and the nights come early, it's a good time to feel cozy at the Foundation Beyeler's new exhibit, Northern Lights. The show includes about 70 landscape paintings from Scandinavian and Canadian artists, each painted between 1880 and 1930. Two big names in the show are Hilma af Klint and Edvard Munch.

If you're a fan of soundscapes that include elements of trip hop, electronica, progressive rock and more, then don't miss London collective Archive on February 19 and 20 in Zurich. Highly recommended!
